Saint John, New Brunswick —The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, are pleased to announce the re-signing of  a key trio of players from last season’s roster.  Guard Anthony Anderson and forwards Marc Egerson and Steve Deluca, who were all on the Mill Rats’ protected list, are set to return.

“We’re ecstatic to have these guys back in a Mill Rats uniform” said Mill Rats President and General Manager Ian McCarthy.  “Anthony and Mark were All-League performers, and Deluca is a fan favourite who developed into our secret weapon last season.”

The explosive Anderson, a 5’11 guard, led the Mill Rats with 19.05 points per game on a blistering 51% from the field and 41% from three point range.  Despite having surgery in April for a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered on March 31st at Halifax, he has fully recovered and looking forward to competing in the new National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada).

“I feel great it’s coming long better than I projected, so I’ll be ready,” said Anderson who laced up the sneakers for the local 2011 Annual Armand Drummond Tournament last month at UNB-Saint John.

Egerson, a 6’7 forward, was right with Anderson at 18.95 points per game and also hauled in 5.26 rebounds per game.  Deluca, also 6’7, is known for his sweet shooting stroke (40% from behind the arc).

The Mill Rats are now part of the new NBL Canada along with the Halifax Rainmen, Quebec Kebs, Moncton Miracles, Summerside Storm, London Lightning, and Oshawa Power.

Mill Rats season tickets are now on sale at the Harbour Station box office 657-1234 or the Mill Rats office 214-4454, as well as several flex-ticket options.  Single game tickets are going on sale on October 17th.
