Canadians Jamal Murray and Trey Lyles have been selected to the NBA Rising Stars Challenge, as part of all-star festivities next month.

The duo will represent Canada for the World team, a similar sight dating back to 2014 where Murray and Lyles paired up at the Nike Hoop Summit.

Murray, a rookie from Kitchener, Ont., is averaging 8.0 points on 37.5 per cent shooting for the Denver Nuggets.

Saskatoon’s Lyles  is averaging 8.0 points and 3.9 rebounds as a sophomore for the Utah Jazz.

The rising stars showcase pits the World team against an American composed roster, featuring the “future” of the NBA.

As a rookie, Canadian Andrew Wiggins captured MVP status in 2015, and was selected again as a sophomore with Dwight Powell.

Murray and Lyles are part of a special international roster featuring the likes of Joel Embiid and Kristaps Porzingis, while the U.S team will likely be lead by Karl-Anthony Towns.
