SAINT JOHN, NB – The Saint John Mill Rats had a phenomenal week considering their hectic travel schedule. The Mill Rats went on a five-game road trip over seven days last week, winning four of five games.

Over those five games, Mill Rats guard, Anthony Anderson, put on a scoring showcase, playing a large part in the Mill Rats’ road success.

The Massachusetts native averaged 24.0 ppg in the five-game stretch including a league-high  35-point performance against the Summerside Storm last week. In their second game on the road against the Oshawa Power, Anderson drained 5 threes as part of his 27-point performance. Anderson,a UMASS alumni, holds the top spot as the league’s leading scorer at 22 points per game.

It was apparent early last week, that Anderson was a front runner for the Player of the week after the Mill Rats strung together three straight road wins including a win over the NBL powerhouse, London Lightning. Now, after starting the season off 0-3, the Mill Rats hold the fifth spot in the National Basketball League of Canada with a 4-4 record.

Mill Rats Centre, Antoine Tisby, also had an impressive stretch with the Mill Rats, averaging 18 ppg, 8.6 rpg and 1.8 bpg over the last five games. Tisby is fourth in the league in scoring at 18.4 ppg and leads the league in blocks per game with 1.57 per game.

The Mill Rats are now on a four-game home stand facing off against the Summerside Storm, Oshawa Power, Halifax Rainmen and Quebec Kebs.  Their first game against the Storm will be played at Harbour Station in Saint John, game time 7pm AST.
