1. Shalahn Beckford – Class of 2028
Coming off of a championship with Team Ontario in the Canada Basketball nations, Shalahn Beckford, the dynamic point guard, put on a clinic in his NPH D1 Junior debut. His ability to penetrate the defense and finish at the rim was a spectacle.
Against Polaris Prep, Beckford was relentless, pouring in 27 points on an efficient 11-of-18 shooting. His playmaking was just as impressive, tallying 10 assists, showing his incredible vision and unselfish nature. David Kouadio of Polaris Prep is another name to circle this season. Standing at 6’2” with an impressive 6’8” wingspan, Kouadio has the tools to become a dominant force on both ends of the court. The 2024 Showcase League finals MVP is averaging 20.5 points and 10 rebounds per game, he’s proven himself as a versatile scorer who can impact the game inside and out.
Kouadio’s shooting touch from deep is a standout part of his game. As a point guard, he has the ability to space the floor and stretch defenses, making him a dual-threat scorer. His long wingspan not only aids his finishing ability but also makes him a defensive disruptor, as he can cover ground quickly and challenge shots effectively. On defense, Kouadio’s 3 steals per game show his knack for reading passing lanes and using his length to his advantage.
