St Mike’s Tournament Preview: Several Teams & Players Look To Earn Respect!
TORONTO,ON–On January 12, the St Mike’s 52nd annual tournament will tip off. As usual, the field is deep, loaded with some of the top high school programs in Ontario.
Paticipating Teams: Oakwood, Richview, Holy Trinity, Mother Teresa, St Francis, Pine Ridge, Pope John Paul II, St Mike’s, St Edmund Campion, Henry Carr, Cathedral, Martingrove, ACMT, Vaughan, Pickering, Herman.
At this point in the season, NPH has witnessed all but one team in action. St. Francis out of St Catherines should be an interesting squad to watch with the duo of standout point guard Patrick Pilato and 6’10 Keegan Dunlop. It has been about a year since we’ve seen either in action and hoping that progress will be evident in both of their games.
As you will see below, talent in the gym will be in the masses. The following is a list of players on the NPH Prospect Watch. However, with such high-calibre teams, don’t be surprised if others step up to the plate, and into prominence.
The top-ranked team in the country (Henry Carr) will look to capture another major tournament victory while St Mike’s is in the rear view mirror chasing to take the thrown at home!
It’s a new year, and teams/players have evolved since September. Strap your seatbelts, and lets enjoy the ride!
