What began as a collaborative vision between Ball Above All and North Pole Hoops quickly transformed into a high-energy platform where skill, competitiveness, and opportunity collided.
For the first time, Dubai’s emerging hoop culture had a stage aligned with international scouting, allowing players the opportunity to be recognized and connected to NPH Pathway to the next level.
From standout performances to promising young prospects making their mark, the showcase delivered a glimpse into the future of basketball in the UAE—one built on structure, development, and a belief that Dubai can produce next-level talent.

2028 | 6’5 | SG | Mahmoud Khalifa | Hoops Dreams
Nationality: Egyptian, Residing in Dubai
Mahmoud Khalifa displays a strong blend of size, length, and coordination for his position as a scoring guard. He loves to put the ball in the hole, illustrated by leading the league in scoring at 30.9 PPG, 8.7 RPG & 3.0 APG as a high usage primary playmaker for his team.
Khalifa’s frame suggests long-term physical upside with room to add a couple more inches—broad shoulders, good wingspan, and above-average agility. Moves fluidly in the open floor and shows promising explosiveness vertically. As he fills out and adds strength, he projects to become more effective at finishing through contact and defending stronger matchups. High motor with the ability to impact the game on both ends for extended stretches.
Khalifa is comfortable handling the ball in space and excels at attacking mismatches. Uses changes of pace effectively and has a natural feel for getting downhill. Shows flashes of advanced reads out of the pick-and-roll, especially as a secondary creator.
Uses his body well to shield defenders and has the coordination to finish difficult angles. Capable in transition and thrives attacking gaps before the defense is set.
Currently, Khalifa utilizes his athleticism and speed to beat defenders and finish at and around the rim for most of his production. His next level is developing his perimeter game, improving his outside shot and strengthening left hand to establish himself as an overall scoring threat, particularly against stronger, bigger more athletic opposition.
Intangibles & Character
Described as coachable, competitive, and team-oriented. Plays with poise and rarely gets rattled under pressure. Shows leadership qualities—communicates, encourages teammates, and maintains high energy. Strong work ethic suggests significant room for growth.
Projection
Mahmoud Khalifa profiles as a versatile two-way guard/wing with long-term upside. With continued development in his perimeter shooting and strength, he projects as a mid-major NCAA prospect—following prep, development & competition environment. His combination of size, skill, feel, and competitiveness makes him a high-value prospect with a scalable game.

2028 | 6’7 | G | Ayom Lual | Dubai Hoop School
Nationality: South Sudanese, Residing in Dubai
Averaged 17.8 PPG, 8.6 RBD, 2.3 AST & 2.7 STL
Ayom Lual is one of the most intriguing long-term prospects in Dubai, emerging as the clear engine behind Dubai Hoop School’s run to the BAA NPH Showcase Championship. At 6’7 with guard skills, natural fluidity, and elite physical tools, Lual carries a ceiling that projects well beyond the local level. His combination of size, length, mobility, and perimeter feel is uncommon—and signals genuine next-level upside once he is consistently challenged by comparable athletes.
Lual brings length with plus wingspan, creating natural defensive and finishing advantages. Prototypical smooth mobility with effortless strides that you would find in a South Sudanese talent—as we have worked with many from Canada, Australia and all over the world. Body Type: Lean but strong; significant room for physical development—His physical tools immediately separate him from his peers and hint at a major long-term trajectory. Lual’s athletic profile is tailored for modern guard/wing play.
Lual’s handle is advanced for his size. He uses long, efficient dribbles to generate advantage and is comfortable initiating offense. Shows flashes of high-level creation, including creating space for step backs, and pull up jumpers, and Ability to get downhill off the first step.
Defensively, A high-upside defender with elite tools. Uses length to swallow space. Moves feet well for his size. Can guard 1–4 at the youth level—on ball perimeter defense, help defense or straight up, he can effect the game in a variety of ways defensively.
Lual has arguably the biggest upside in Dubai due to all the above, but his next step is to be challenged physically—He needs consistent reps against higher-level, physically comparable competition. His dominance locally is clear—but seeing him matched with equally long, athletic defenders will sharpen his reads, decision-making, and competitiveness.
Long-Term Path:
Prep, academy, or elite development environments would accelerate his growth significantly.

2028 | 6’6 | F | Malith Dium | Dubai Hoop School
Nationality: South Sudanese, Residing in Dubai
Averaged 12.1 PPG, 8.9 RBD, 2.3 AST & 1.9 STL
Malith Dium delivered one of the most dominant performances of the inaugural BAA x NPH Showcase, earning MVP honors after posting a massive double-double and impacting the game on both ends of the floor. With a rare blend of length, mobility, and motor, Dium established himself as one of the event’s premier long-term prospects—projectable, coachable, and dripping with upside.
At 6’6 with a 7’0 wingspan, Dium possesses prototypical modern-forward length. His rangy frame allows him to cover ground defensively, finish above defenders, and create advantages on the glass. He moves fluidly for his size, showing promising vertical pop and speed in transition.
Dium’s offensive presence was felt immediately. He attacked the rim with purpose, finished through contact, and generated second-chance opportunities with relentless rebounding. He flashed touch around the basket and showed the ability to handle in transition, pushing pace and forcing mismatches. His activity level alone created scoring opportunities—constantly cutting, crashing, and putting pressure on the defense.
Defensively, Dium’s length and motor are difference-makers. He disrupted passing lanes, rotated effectively as a help-side defender, and challenged shots at the rim throughout the showcase. His ability to switch onto multiple positions makes him highly valuable in modern systems built on speed and versatility.
What separated Dium from the pack wasn’t just his production—it was his approach. He played with high energy, high motor, and high character, setting the tone for teammates on both ends. After being named MVP, Dium expressed genuine gratitude and appreciation, reflecting humility and maturity that coaches at the next level will value. His coachability and positive presence stood out as much as his physical tools.
Projection
Dium has the tools, motor, and mentality that project extremely well long-term. With continued skill development on the perimeter and added strength, he has the potential to become a legitimate two-way impact forward at the next level. His performance at the BAA x NPH Showcase confirmed that he will be a name to track moving forward.
