The OUA season schedule was released this week, and the season will open November 1st with a couple of great matchups on deck.

The big three of Tyson Hinz, Phil and Thomas Scrubb will lead the Ravens as they look to capture another OUA title. They’re season, and home opener will be no easy task, as they’ll host Lien Philip and the Windsor Lancers.

Windsor is coming off a 16-5 year, which saw them earn first place in the OUA West division, and an OUA final four appearance.  Coach Chris Oliver will be looking to build off a strong 2012-2013 campaign, and will attempt to upset the Ravens in the season opener for the second straight year.

The Ravens only loss last year came at the hands of the Lancers. Although they won 19 straight to finish the year, and went on to win another National championship, coach Dave Smart and the Ravens will be ready to avenge they’re lone loss last year.

The Ryerson Rams will begin the season on the road, as they’ll take on the Brock Badgers. The Rams are coming off a disappointing end to the year, which saw them fail to reach the OUA Final four that was hosted in their gym.

Coach Roy Rana will have Jamal Jones, and Aaron Best once again, in addition to five new faces lead by 6’8 Adam Voll who will surely be an impactful freshmen on both ends of the floor.

November 8 will feature the rematch of the National championship game, as Carleton travels to Thunder Bay to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves. The T-Wolves lost six seniors from a year ago and will count on a group of bright young freshmen headlined by Nolan Mackenzie and two-time OFSAA champion Henry Tan. Coach Scott Morrison also added size with 7’0’ Brent Wallace.

We could potentially see two freshmen seven footers do battle if Brent Wallace and Carleton’s Cam Smythe match up.
