LAS VEGAS, NV–In the first official AAU season for the Northern Kings program based out of Toronto, Ontario, they managed to capture the U16 Gold Division championship at the prestigous FAB 48 tournament in Las Vegas.

“The way everyone came together, it was really special,” said U16 Head Coach, Gyasi Moffett.

Standout performers included 2013 stud, James Sylvester, 2014 Connor Gilmore, 2015 Miles Steward, 2014 Jamal Thomas, 2014 Rashawn Browne & 2013 Kahleek Bakare-Whyte.

This group was under the radar entering the summer circuit, however this has certainly changed as they impressed opposing teams and fans alike with a spectacular performance in Vegas. The squad steam-rolled through the competition with multiple convincing wins including a 20+ demolition in the championship game.

When the team is locked in on the defensive end, it is extremely difficult to execute against these pack of wolves; almost as if hunting for prey.

It was quite refereshing to witness the Northern Kings on the circuit as they represented everything that a team should stand for: brotherhood, passion, and support for one another, whether a player was in the game or on the bench.

Congratulations Northern Kings, you are now on the map!
