Once again, the CCAA’s top three teams in Langara, Algonquin and Sheridan maintain their position. Since last week’s release of the CCAA National Rankings, Red Deer college (ACAC) makes the biggest jump of three spots to own the title of #4 in the nation and the top school out of Alberta.

The three teams that have dipped are Holland, Vanier and Quest (the biggest decrease) while NAIT departs the top 15, to make room for a new entry in Concordia.

The 2014 CCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship will be hosted by Quest University in Squamish, B.C.┬áMarch 12-15.

I would put George Brown at #14 & NAIT at #15. #13 John Abbott (8-7) actually moved up a spot in the CCAA National rankings while simultaneously dropping from 2nd to 3rd in the RSEQ this week- where do they do that at? I don’t know how the National rankings are compiled (coaches, CCAA admin, other) but one must be cognitively competent if they want the CCAA to be respected as a basketball league- accountability, and not a glorified college recreational league. Unranked Teams: George Brown (13-3), NAIT (12-5), MacEwan (12-6), Briercrest (11-7), Grande Prairie (10-7), St Thomas (9-5), Fanshawe (9-5), Centennial (9-7), Georgian (9-7), Medicine Hat (9-7), Dawson (8-5) & Sainte Foy (8-6).
