Program Overview:
The North Pole Hoops Scouting Internship Program is designed for aspiring basketball scouts to gain hands-on experience in evaluating talent, understanding, and contributing to growing industry—Interns will work closely with experienced scouts and coaching staff, providing a comprehensive introduction to the scouting process.
Program Duration:
– 6 months
– Commitment (Minimum 20 Hours / week)
– Flexible start dates based on academic calendars and availability
Location:
North Pole Hoops HQ + Remote
Responsibilities:
- Talent Evaluation:
- Observe and analyze live games and practice sessions.
- Collect and assess player statistics, performance metrics (objective) along with evaluations & various perspectives (subjective).
- Prepare detailed scouting reports and player evaluations.
- Build & Maintain Player Profiles
- Game Analysis:
- Review game footage to identify player strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas for improvement.
- Use video analysis software to support scouting reports and recommendations.
- Data Management:
- Maintain accurate records of player performances and scouting reports.
- Update and manage scouting databases and performance tracking systems.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and other administrative tasks.
- Coordinate with coaching staff and other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong passion for basketball and a solid understanding of the game.
- Basic knowledge of scouting principles and techniques.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and basic video analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Previous experience in sports management or a related field is a plus but not required.
