Potential NBA Prospects Headline Canadian 2025 Class

In my 5 years of covering Canadian Basketball, I can confidently say the C/O 2025 is one of the best I’ve seen. From the number of high major offers the top prospects in the class have received, to the promising depth of players. Don’t be surprised if a handful of these guys end up in the NBA one way or another.

Efeosa Oliogu – 6’6 G/W, Overtime Elite/Canada Elite

Starting at the top with phenom Efeosa Oliogu who’s been one of the top prospects in all of North America for a few years now. 6’6 guard/wing with freakish explosiveness, didn’t think it was possible but seeing him recently it looks like he’s even bouncier than before. Coming off a big summer at the UAA circuit, top 100 camp, recent commitment to OTE.

The way Efeosa has the ability to change speed and direction when slashing is D-Wade-esque. Fluidity, grace, and explosiveness. On the defensive end, he’s got the footspeed & strength to guard multiple positions. Really like his upside as a defender.

Will Riley – 6’8 W, The Phelps School/UPLAY

Will Riley’s taken the game by storm this past year. The now 6’8 wing’s offensive arsenal is that of a pro’s already. Elite shotmaking ability, gets to his spots in the middy, knockdown shooter from 3, can operate everywhere on the floor from midpost, perimeter, to inside. First saw him 2 years ago before his recruitment blew up & even then you were able to see he had that “IT” factor. Confident & poised.

Spencer Ahrens – 6’9 F, Sunrise Christian Academy/Mississauga Monarchs

This ultra-skilled & fundamentally sound 6’9 F has already been on unofficial visits at Michigan & Michigan State as early as last year. Been dubbed a “calm face killer” with a relentless work ethic. Arguably the highest floor for a prospect in this class.

Tristan Beckford – 6’6 SG, Hodan Prep/UPLAY

Tristan’s the prototype guard for today’s game. Great playmaking ability with size, bucket getter, athletic, skilled, & he gets after it. Top prospect in the class that’ll be playing on Canadian soil during the school season.

Marial Akuentok – 6’11 F/C, Fort Erie/UPLAY

The defensive stalwart absolutely annihilates any shot at the rim. Tremendous upside player that couldn’t be in a better environment for development at Fort Erie. High major offers already coming in. Rare type of prospect.

Babatunde Durodola – 6’8 F, DME Academy/Canada Elite

The highly physical & athletic slashing forward was hands down the best player at the Canada Basketball Nationals with 17U Team Ontario. In constant attack mode putting nonstep pressure on defenders. Underrated playmaker too. When considering that combination of physicality, versatility, athleticism, & motor that’s a recipe for a potential NBA prospect.

Chris Kumu – 6’3 PG, Fort Erie/Brookwood Elite

Explosive is an understatement. One of those prospects out of Quebec that have a different type of gear to them (Ben Mathurin, Lu Dort, etc). With his rare ability & attacking mindset don’t be surprised if he continues to develop into a player that can dominate at the next level.
