Dakota Whyte Named NC-Double-Eh Player of the Week – Week 13

Despite some tough games, Wisconsin’s Dakota Whyte and Florida St’s Adut Bulgak played well and took away NC-Double-Eh ladies honors this week …

Women’s Player of the Week

Dakota Whyte, Wisconsin

Dakota Whyte had another great week for the Wisconsin Badgers putting up some great numbers as the teams looks to gain momentum for the conference tournament. In two games she averaged 16 points, 1 rebound, 7.5 assists and 2 steals in 27.5 minutes. She shot 10-of-21 from the floor, 4-of-7 from the three and 8-of-12 from the line to earn our NC-Double-Eh Women’s Player of the Week.

In Wisconsin’s 93-92 loss to Minnesota February 11, Whyte was brilliant in defeat earning her first career double-double going for 20 points, 2 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals in 32 minutes before fouling out. She shot 6-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-5 from the trey, and 5-of-6 from the stripe. She also hit career highs in both points and assists in the contest.

In the Badgers’ tough 70-63 loss to Nebraska Sunday, Whyte had 12 points, 5 assists and 2 steals before fouling out in 23 minutes. She shot 4-of-8 from the floor, 1-of-2 from behind the three, while making 3-of-6 from the line.

On the season, Whyte is averaging 10.8 points, 3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 30.3 minutes. She’s shooting 39.3 % from the floor, 29% from the three and 69.8% from the charity stripe.

Women’s Rookie of the Week

Adut Bulgak, Florida St

Adut Bulgak continues to be a force for the surging Florida St Seminoles. Last week she averaged 11.5 points, 11 rebounds and a steal in 33 minutes. She shot 10-of-19 from the floor, including 2-of-5 from behind the arc on her way to be named our NC-Double-Eh Women’s Rookie of the Week.

In Florida St’s 71-63 loss to North Carolina February 12, Bulgak had 9 points, 13 rebounds and a steal in 33 minutes. She shot 4-of-10 from the floor including 1-of-3 from the three.

In the Seminoles’ 65-56 win over Virginia four days later Bulgak had 14 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal in 33 minutes. She shot 6-of-9 from the field making 1-of-2 treys, while making her only free throw.

On the year, Bulgak is averaging 13.5 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2 blocks in 28.2 minutes. She’s shooting 51.2% from the floor, 34.6% from the three and 75.3 % from the line.
