U Ottawa Triples Down on Simcoe United Spartans

This past week, University of Ottawa secured commitments from 3 of the top players in NPHShowcase League. Owen Kenney, Will McCauley, and Ryan Harris all announced they will be suiting up for the GeeGees next season.

Joining a team in the OUA who enjoyed a 19-3 season last year, there aren’t many better situations in the country to learn and develop in. Being in and around a winning culture will elevate them both on & off the floor.

6’7 Wing Owen Kenney

The multi-dimensional scoring wing has all the tools to make an instant impact at the University level. Capable 3pt shooter with good size and athleticism for position. With his offensive ability he can fit into a number of different systems whether he’s needed to be a catch&shoot guy or put it on the floor and make plays. Expecting him to be an instant-impact piece.

6’3 Guard Ryan Harris

Leading scorer for the Simcoe United Spartans in the NPHShowcase League at 15ppg, Ryan Harris is a crafty guard who will provide the GeeGees with strong and reliable guard play. Most recently, Ryan is coming off the 2024 OFSSAA AA Championship with St.Joseph’s High School.

6’5 Wing Will McCauley

Another OFSAA AA Champ joining the GeeGees, Will McCauley also played with Ryan Harris at St. Joseph’s HS. Will is averaging 10ppg for Simcoe United in the NPHShowcase League and is another skilled wing with good size at the next level.
