NPH D1 Seedings & Match Ups Released, Action Tip Off March 16-17 at York University

Tipping off this weekend at York University, NPH D1 Teams will compete for the league title, as well as an auto-bid into the following weekend’s NPA Championship March 21-24. Two spots await and will be rewarded to the finalists.

After a full season, the top 16 teams make the championships, with Brampton City Prep earning the top spot at 10-2. There’s also a 3-team tie for second-place among C.O.D.E, William Academy, and Polaris Prep Academy that were decided by point-differential.

#1 Seed Brampton City Prep (10-2) vs #16 Seed Full Circle Academy (5-7)

The league’s youngest team didn’t let age, size, or experience phase them. Some of the top 2026 prospects in the country. Consistent play throughout the season with spread-out scoring and a number of options & difference makers. Versatile and fast-paced. Well coached, can throw out a number of different looks and lineups which makes them even more unpredictable. Playoffs will be the true test for them, in the first round they’ll see a tough Full Circle Academy team. Anyone can beat anyone.

Similar to BCP, Full Circle Academy comes in with a lot of strong underclassmen talent. 2026 PG Isaiah Coscarella-Knight comes in averaging 15.9ppg, and 2028 G Kenyon St.Louis is among the top prospects in his class already playing 4 years up and averaging just over 10ppg.

#2 Seed: C.O.D.E Academy (9-3) vs #15 Seed Supreme Hoops Academy (5-7)

Hard to stop the high-octane duo that is Amare Allen & Kymani Merraro. They finish the season at a combined average of 40.7ppg. Kymani, their PG who steers the ship for them, does a fantastic job of distributing and establishing their pace of play;. handful to contain as he’s always in attack mode. Amare Allen is easily one of the most versatile prospects in the 2024 class. Size, skill, footwork, IQ, and motor makes him a tough cover especially inside and in the midrange. Polished postgame. Not much he can’t do on the floor. If he continues to play at the level he’s capable at, this team might be punching their ticket to the NPA Championships.

Supreme Hoops Academy is the reigning NPH Showcase League (club) Champions from the past spring/summer. Although they’ve graduated some of their top guys, they made some additions to complement the existing core. PG Amare Hamilton leads them with 14.5ppg, a dynamic and steady guard.

#3 Seed William Academy (9-3) vs #14 Seed James Cardinal McGuian Prep (5-7)

Another Championship Contender William Academy’s got all the pieces to go all the way. Talent, size, depth, coaching, buy-in. The 3-headed monster of Emmanuel Owonibi, Deng Makeer, and Landon Wright are about as good a fit as you can get. Emmanuel holding it down inside, Landon running the PG spot at a high level, and Deng making it rain from outside while guarding on the perimeter. If their bench unit can come in and provide the same production it’ll be tough for them to lose. Declan Andrade is the x-factor here that defences can’t forget about as well.

JCM led by Both Deng & Jaylen Livingstone who combine for 26.4ppg. They will need everyone to step up in the playoffs, as they’ve dropped their last three games to end the season. Maybe those losses can serve as the wake up call they’ll need to compete with William. It’s possible for them to win, they just need to bring a lot of energy, heart, and execute their game plan perfectly.

#4 Seed Polaris Prep Academy (9-3) vs #13 Seed Burloak Prep Academy (5-7)

Coming off their OSBA Championship, Polaris Prep Academy looks to make it two in a row at NPH D1, with hopes of joining the post-grad Polaris Prep at NPA. Arguably the deepest team in this championship tournament with strong coaching. From guys like Malachi Scott, Malik Lenggener, CJ Nelson, Dylan Koffi, Cyrus Hassan, the list goes on. When you have a plethora of players that can step in, execute, and compete, you make it extremely tough to match up. They look to take down their fellow Halton-based program Burloak Prep.

#5 Seed Polaris Prep Varsity (8-4) vs #12 Seed PEDSDMD (7-5)

Another Polaris squad looking to join their brother-teams at NPA Championships. Similar to the Academy team, the Varsity team has got a lot of depth, good coaching, and skill.

Really interesting matchup with this one. PEDSDMD, similar to the #1-seed Brampton City Prep has a lot of talented underclassmen. From 2027s Alessandro Acosta-Reyes & Tristan Brathwaite to 2026 Rico Reat.

#6 Seed TNP (8-4) vs #11 Seed ONL-X (7-5)

ONL-X coming in representing Ottawa will try to take down #6 Seed Top Notch Prep. Although separated by 5 spots, they only have 1 win separating the teams. Extremely balanced matchup that can swing either way. TNP has reliable scorers, while ONL-X will try to use their athleticism to their advantage.

#7 Seed Cali Prep (7-4) vs #10 Seed United Scholastic Academy (7-4)

This is the game to see. Definitely the marquee matchup of the first round. Two teams with identical records and talent across the board. Wouldn’t be shocked if one of these two teams make it to the Championship game. Cali Prep led by PG Taj Au-Duke who is one of the premier guards in Canada, DJ Burke, Malko Young, Austin Thomson. USA comes in with Tristan Darko, Sam Nuga, Progress Imafidon, Lebron Waysome, and a bunch of other lethal offensive weapons. Can see this one going down as a fast, high scoring competition.

#8 Seed TNP West (7-5) vs #9 Seed V3 Prep (7-5)

Another extremely tight matchup that will come down to the wire. Both teams have gotten impressive wins during the season and have serious talent. These two teams are actually very similar. V3 have an elite scoring guard in Fabian Pommells averaging 18.6ppg with capable pieces around him. TNP West has the same team-build for the most part with Marques Dasilva-Romeo leading them in scoring at 16.7ppg + talented teammates.

The matchup between Pommells & Dasilva-Romeo will be the one to look out for in this game.
