DJ Jackson: 2022 Guard Emerging as Top Scoring Prospect in Class

Starting his freshmen season last year at St. Martins Secondary School, DJ Jackson was a key piece to the Junior squad who were one game short of winning the ROPSSAA championship.

Showing glimpses, Jackson went from a 6’0 guard at the beginning of his grade 9 year to a 6’4 180 lbs point guard in his Sophomore season.

With good length with solid size, a feathery touch, clean handle and footwork Jackson is proving to be the best scoring prospects in the class.

This past summer was a very important one for the Mississauga native, as he claimed MVP at the U15 Nationals helping Ontario claim gold behind his 20 point and 8 rebounds per game.

At the NJC (National Junior Circuit) DJ solidified himself amongst the top 2022/23s in the country averaging 40 PPG, scoring a record 57 points against Father Henry Carr in a 98-95 victory.

“Everyday I am pushing myself more and more, putting in the extra work and reps which I know will only benefit me in the end” Jackson explained.

“I did exceed my expectations this weekend averaging 40 PPG, and the NJC was an unbelievable experience – I played my heart out.”

The weekend paid huge dividends for Jackson as he picked up his first Division 1 offer from Stony Brook, something DJ takes full pride in.

“It was such a honour and great feeling to receive my first offer, I am still in disbelief,” said Jackson.

“My family has really supported me and I am glad for them to be able to share this moment with me.”

As for his future goals the road seems very clear for the #5 ranked prospect in the class.

“As I get older my desire to work hard increases, and I will not allow myself to slow down – (my family and I) are looking forward to what the future holds.”
