Why does Jamal Murray already sound like a seasoned veteran?

After finishing up his first and only season at Kentucky and entering the NBA Draft, Jamal seems poised and ready for the challenges of being a professional in his latest piece with The Players’ Tribune.

The article, titled ‘Sharpen the Arrow’, outlines Jamal’s introduction to kung-fu movies and in turn the art of meditation. His dad Roger would point out the nuances of Bruce Lee, like his footwork and patience, instead of his fighting technique. This eventually led to focusing on cutting out the distractions and being able to dial in when it matters.

Now it comes as no challenge to mentally prepare himself for a game, and at the next level Murray wants to be the player who is responsible for guarding opponent’s best players.

Regardless of where Jamal ends up come Draft Day, the team that snags Murray will be getting a player who is already mentally preparing himself for the stress of the pros.
