Jamal Murray invited to NBA Draft Combine
Kitchener’s Jamal Murray has been invited to 2016 NBA Combine, which runs from May 11 to May 15 in Chicago this year, along with several of his Kentucky Wildcats teammates.
Murray, coming off a stellar freshman season where he snagged First-Team All SEC and Third-Team All-American honours, averaged 20 points and 5.2 rebounds a game while shooting 40.8% from beyond the arc.
Murray will be joined by fellow Wildcats Skal Labissiere, Marcus Lee, and Tyler Ullis, along with fellow Canadian Gonzaga’s Kyle Wiltjer.
Murray is expected to be a high lottery pick in the draft, which comes as no surprise to Canadians who have seen Jamal do work against NBA veterans at the National level, seriously contributing to the Men’s national team on their way to Silver at the Pan Am games in 2015.
Murray is clearly ready to get down to business with whatever team drafts him in June, posting a workout video last week of him in the gym.
