Ahmed Ali to Eastern Florida St – “I think we’re getting one of Best PG’s in North America”
Ahmed Ali, or as some of you may know him “Mr 103” after scoring that many points in a high school game, has made his decision for the next level.
Ali, a 5’10 point guard for BTB Prep has committed to Eastern Florida State, the #4-ranked Junior College in America.
“I think we’re getting one of the best point guards in North America…he’s more polished than I realized,” Head coach Jeremy Shulman told NPH.
As an academic non-qualifier, Ali will play two years of JUCO basketball with hopes of developing his game and mind, in preparation for the next level.
This program just graduated an under recruited kid coming out of high school, named C.J Jackson, who is Ohio State bound (NCAA D1).
Ali has now made the next step, however must stay the course–meaning he must get on to campus and be ready to work.
“Being drastically far from Toronto I think will be a good thing for him,” said Shulman.
At this point, nothing is guaranteed in terms of playing at the next level; the talent is unquestionable, however his level of focus will ultimately decide on his future.
“We knew he could score, but he is an unbelievable passer, and great decision maker.”
Following a successful visit, Coach Shulman attests that Ali is expected to be an immediate impact player for his program.
“I think he’s a steal for us…I think he’s ready for the next level.”
