CIS Top 10 Basketball Rankings – Week 2
Much like this week’s CCAA rankings, nothing has changed in the top half of the CIS Top 10, with four of the top five winning their games, and one team (McGill) yet to start their season in the RSEQ.
Biggest Climb
The biggest climb of the week is the Calgary Dinos, who went 2-0 on the weekend with two convincing wins against the University of Winnipeg.
The Dinos surpass their Canada West opponents and are now the highest ranked team within the conference.
Biggest Drop
The UBC Thunderbirds dropped out of the Top 10 with a loss to the Alberta Golden Bears. UBC starts the season at 1-1.
The New Guys
The Dalhousie Tigers aren’t really “new”, as they represented the AUS conference last season at nationals, to the surprise of many. They have picked up where they left off last season, a 2-0 start with two close victories over UNB, including a 40-point outburst from third year forward Sven Stammberger.
