Man On Fire! Xavier Rathan-Mayes
Xavier Rathan-Mayes dropped in a three-pointer with 4:39 remaining in the fourth quarter that spurred a ridiculous scoring burst.
X went off! scoring 30 points in the final 4:39 of the fourth quarter.
Rathan-Mayes finished with 35 points on 10-of-19 shooting, including 6-of-11 from three-point range and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. He also added five assists and four rebounds.
The Scarborough, Ontario, native entered the contest averaging 13.6 points, 4.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.
It was just the latest scoring performance from Rathan-Mayes, this coming a little more than a month after he dropped 35 on North Carolina.
Florida State almost came back from a late-game 15 point deficit thanks to XRM’s outburst but couldn’t beat the clock in a 81-77 loss to Miami.
He’s come pretty far from the dude NPH got to know back in 2011, a top-5 ranked prospect in the class of 2013.
We said, ‘X does his scoring in bunches at a high level.’ True as it ever was.
Looks like he’s still elevating his game on the next level.
