Canada Basketball Releases National Team Roster
Canada Basketball has announced the 2014 Senior National Team Roster that will travel to Europe for 11 games in 15 days, in preparation for next summer’s Olympic qualifier.
Key names such as Andrew Wiggins, Nik Stauskas, Anthony Bennett, Tristan Thompson and Tyler Ennis will not be making the trip, as Canada Basketball was unable to spend fundraising money on insuring NBA contracts for lower-stakes games, according to the National Post.
Team Canada departed to Europe on July 22, with the exhibition tour from July 24 to August 12.
