Vaughan VS JC Richardson, Pine Ridge VS Thornlea: MT Semi-Final Set

The Mother Teresa Invitational semi-finals are set.

Vaughan vs. JC Richardson

The Vaughan Voyageurs X-factor is 6’9 Kalif Young, a player that can change the game on the defensive end with his shot blocking and on both sides of the boards. JC Richardson’s Matthew McKail will have his hands full, but has proven to be productive for JC Richardson with rebounding, put backs and all the dirty work.

On the perimeter, Vaughan’s senior guard Jawara Pedican will need to be assertive and remain a presence defensively, as you know Marcus Ottey is going to bring it.

J.C Richardson has the talent and athleticism to pull of an ‘upset’ here, as the last time these two teams matched up it was a 1-point 67-66 victory for Vaughan. But if the Voyageurs have their shots falling, it could be a long night for the Storm.

Pine Ridge vs. Thornlea

Both Pine Ridge and Thornlea are teams “on the bubble” as far as the #NPHTop25 is concerned. Both teams have the fire power and have stringed together some quality wins over the season, but a Mother Teresa Invitational championship would help catapult one of them into the Top 25.

It won’t be easy, but if we end up having a Vaughan-Thornlea championship final–that would be a treat, as these teams faced off in a double-overtime rivalry game only a few days ago, that Vaughan would win 61-57.

Pine Ridge, lead by Chase Vassell and Jordan Henry will do everything in their power to ensure, the rematch does not take place.
