VIDEO: Canadian Ryan Wright Ballin’ Out Abroad
MISSISSAUGA,ON–Canadian Ryan Wright (Mississauga, ON) is fresh off a successful season playing professional basketball in the Taiwan Super League, leading the league in scoring, while averaging a double-double, posting 19.3 PPG and 12.9 RPG.
Wright is a former UCLA Bruin and Oklahoma Sooner and has played along side an immense group of talent including Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Jordan Farmar and Aaron Affalo during his NCAA career.
In addition to him averaging a double-double in the SBL, ranked in the top 10 in steals (1.5 SPG) and block (1.0 BPG) she shot 54% from the field as you will see in the following clip, as he crams on various defenders.
Despite being the youngest import in the league, Wright quickly became a fan favorite, becoming the 2012 SBL Slam Dunk Champion and Scoring Champion.
Wright attended Loyola secondary, where Michigan Commit Nick Stauskas started his high school career prior to St. Mark’s. Wright and Stauskas will be training together this summer in preparation for their respective seasons. While Stauskas will open his NCAA career, Wright is aiming to transition into the NBA!
