Two More Canadians are McDonald’s All-Americans! Anthony Bennett, Nirra Fields Representing Well!

TORONTO,ON–On February 9, 2012 the McDonald’s All-American rosters were revealed and to no surprise, two super talented Canadian players made the cut.

For the boys, NPH #1-ranked prospect Anthony Bennett (Findlay Prep/ CIA Bounce) of Brampton, Ontario became the sixth Canuck in the last three years to be participating in the prestigous all-star game.

Last year in Chicago, Myck Kabongo, Khem Birch and Kyle Wiltjer took part in the festivities; and the year prior, it was current NBAers Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph.

I had the opportunity to chat with Bennett last Spring with regards to his goals for the 2011-2012 season, before he blew up over the summer.

Bennett stated, “I want to be an All-American”

Mission accomplished. Congrats Robo!

On the girls end, Quebec’s pride and joy, 5’9 PG Nirra Fields (Mater Dei) will be representing Canada for the ladies.

Fields is committed to UCLA for next September, and is the most talented female player I have come across to date.

For NPH, these two selections mean one thing…it’s time to get back to Chicago!
