Ontario Basketball Awards Gala, Submit you Nomination!

TORONTO,ON–Ontario Basketball has announced the creation of the inaugural Ontario Basketball Awards Gala. This event will honour more than 35 members of the basketball community, representing all facets of the organization.

The event will coincide with the 2011 Ontario Basketball Annual Meeting of Members (AMM) on Saturday, November 19, 2011 and will take place at the Holiday Inn Yorkdale in Toronto.

Anyone who submits a nomination before October 7 will be automatically entered into a draw for a Nike prize package! The Awards Gala will take place during brunch and will gather stakeholders, partners and members together to celebrate the achievements of the past year. 

Over 20 categories of awards will honour those whose contributions to the basketball community in Ontario have been deemed extraordinary.

“Part of our organization’s new priorities was to improve on the investment of our people,” said Michael T. Cvitkovic, executive director, Ontario Basketball. “We have tremendous basketball mavens in the province. With so many fantastic volunteer coaches, administrators, it is important for us to recognize and reward their contributions to our game. The inaugural Ontario Basketball Awards Gala is a way to say thank you to many of our community champions.”

From grassroots through to high performance, various categories of awards will honour our athletes, coaches, partners and member clubs. Some awards will be appointed by trusted committees, while others will require a nomination. Here are the Award categories:
