OAKVILLE, ON–World renowned strength and conditioning guru, Alan Stein will be making a stop in Canada, in Oakville, Ontario where Stein will work with players, presenting all those in attendance with his “Cutting Edge Reaction, Quickness and Agility Basketball Clinic.” This unique event will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the LTAD centre.

However, this won’t be the first time that Stein makes a trip to the great white North as it would be his tenth time in Canada. Stein has instructed several Clinics in Halifax, Nova Scotia along with the Nike Championship Basketball Clinic held in Toronto which NPH was fortunate to be a part of. High profile coaches including Syracuse Jim Boeheim, UConn’s Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriema to name a few.

“Everytime I come to Canada it’s very exciting, I’m greatful to meet some awesome people and it’s always well received,” Stein told NPH.

“My goal is to get to Halifax or Toronto at least once or twice a year,” he continued.

Stein is a world-class trainer who has worked with NBA All-stars including Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Stephen Curry and most notable, Kevin Durant!

Stein had the opportunity to work closely with Kevin Durant throughout his high school season as he was the strength and conditioning coach at Montrose Christian [where Durant attended HS].

“Kevin Durant is the most notable player I’ve worked with closely… great person and great player,” said Stein.

However, Stein also enjoys working with the 15th man on the bench as much as he does with the superstar names.

“It’s a difficult one to answer; I take most pride in sparking the jumpstart in the things they do. My favourite part is meeting a whole new group of kids, he explained.”

“I do the same drills that I’ve done with the most elite players..they are the ones I will be doing in Oakville.”

This camp in Oakville, Ontario was organized by Oakville Venom Coach, Pat Traynor who was connected with Alan Stein through fellow highly-acclaimed Canadian personal trainer Ganon Baker.

Stein’s next stop in Canada will be in September in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

According to the high-level trainer, Canada welcomes him with open arms every time he visits.

“The neat part is that it’s a seemless transition. I don’t believe I’m in a different country..when I’m in Canada, I feel like I’m home.”
