AUGUSTA, GA–WOW.

That was my first reaction following the end of the battle between Andrew Wiggins and Julius Randle – the #2-ranked player in America in the class of 2013.

The #1 player in 2013 Jabari Parker, who was also scheduled for a rendezvous at Peach Jam with Mr Wiggins, is currently nursing an injury.

Julius Randle will do for now.

The energy within the compact gym was building prior to tip off, as fans, coaches, and scouts swarmed the court to witness a great match up, that surely did no disappoint.

CIA Bounce was ready to get it on, with Xavier Rathan-Mayes yelling “It’s showtime” during warm ups, and the rest of the team full of excitement in their eyes.

As the whistle blew, Wiggins was locked and loaded, he was out for blood, on a mission to prove himself as the best in the world. So he proceeded to take on the challenge of guarding the 6’9, 240-pound specimen and gave it everything he had.

“There’s been a lot of talk about who’s the best in the country and everything, so that would’ve gave a little idea who came out on top in that game,” Wiggins told Adam Zagoria of the Zags Blog.

“It was a key matchup, everyone wanted to see Andrew vs. Julius Randle, so that’s what I gave them,” Wiggins continued.

The Canadian phenom guarded Randle, doing a fantastic job of containing him, making things difficult, while Randle did not match up on the other end.

To Randle’s credit, he had himself a strong game registering a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds, while also demonstrating very good passing ability, adding four assists. However, Wiggins forced him into five turnovers.

Momentarily, Canadian sharpshooter Xavier Rathan-Mayes stole the show by nailing four three-pointers in a row, to the delight of the crowd. This barrage of triples put CIA Bounce back in the game.

The teams  needed overtime to settle this one, with the Canadian contingent remaining undefeated (4-0) in 81-80 victory on the shoulders of Wiggins, Rathan-Mayes, Ennis and Reid-Knight who came up with another solid outing.

The playoffs will begin today at 6:00 PM. The task is simple: win or go home.
