MISSISSAUGA,ON–It’s an awkward feeling when you’re sitting in a gym witnessing stars put on a show, yet those in attendance are unaware of who’s who. The common rumblings in the crowd were to the effect of “Who is this guy?” when watching one dominant performance after another.

NPH was on hand last night at the University of Toronto-Mississauga Campus chatting with former CIS stars and professionals.

-Among those in attendance included Cape Breton Caper Alumni Paul Blake, who is currently averaging 34 PPG in two contests, good for second in the UTM summer league in terms of scoring.

After speaking to Blake, NPH learned that this free agent is open getting back to playing professional basketball. Instantly, the topic of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL) came into conversation.

Blake replied, “If the money is right, it’s definitely a great option.”

-Brad Smith, former Western Mustang and professional in England for Nedway Park Crusaders currently leads the league averaging over 40 points per game! What’s more impressive is the fact that he produces so naturally, without having to force the issue.

Unlike Blake, Smith is likely winding down as a professional, and ready to begin a career as a teach while remaining involved with the game.

– Windsor’s Isaac Kuon and NPH #6-Ranked CIS prospect was also in attendance. Kuon is currently weighing his options, with multiple professional contract offers. Stay tuned on NPH s this story develops and Kuon chooses his basketball future.

-Former York Lion, Tut Ruach was back home in Mississauga from Germany where he played professional ball. Ruach doest not play in this league but is showing his support to past teammates.

Stay tuned for more NPH coverage as the UTM Summer League continues to progress!
