OPERATIONS INTERNSHIP
Learn what it takes to run a league
The operations department is responsible for managing the logistics and coordination needed to run the league efficiently. This includes scheduling games, ensuring compliance with league rules, handling game-day operations and more. They ensure that all teams comply with league rules and regulations, including player eligibility and officiating standards.
On game days, the department manages the smooth execution of events, from referee coordination to safety protocols, ensuring a seamless experience for players, staff, and fans.
SCOUTING INTERNSHIP
Discover the Next Canadian Star
The scouting department is responsible for evaluating talent at various levels. Their primary role is to identify promising players and helping them open pathways to playing at the next level by assessing their skills, physical attributes, and potential fit within specific teams.
Scouts attend games, tournaments, and workouts to gather detailed reports on players, which is then sent to a wide network of coaches and organizations looking for new recruits.
MEDIA & MARKETING INTERNSHIP
Tell the Story of Canadian Basketball
The media and marketing department is responsible for creating and telling the story of Canadian Basketball at all levels. Whether it’s the NBA, CEBL, College or grassroots, there is always amazing stories to tell the the WORLD.
From photography, videography, graphic design to broadcasting and more, the department promotes our league, its teams, and players, and Canadian basketball as a whole. This includes developing marketing campaigns, handling media relations, and coordinating social media and digital content to engage fans.
HEAD OF REFEREES
Reporting to the NPH leadership team, the Head of Referees is responsible for providing expertise & insights, while overseeing referee development programming & maintaining a high standard for service delivery. This role has been created to fill the needs of the Canadian basketball community and ultimately evolve the sport in our country. The Head of Referees is a leadership role which will continually evolve as the referee sector grows and expands within the company. The Head of Referees coordinates and works closely with the NPH Operations Manager to execute tasks, gather feedback and make adjustments for improvements & peak referee performance.

REFEREE
Reporting to the Manager of Referees, the NPH Referee is responsible for officiating basketball games in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner, while providing a fun and safe environment for all participants. The NPH Referee will implement established Event rules to the best of their abilities. Referees report directly to the Manager of Referees and work in conjunction with the event Operations Manager as well as other NPH staff where necessary. Prior to beginning work, the NPH Referee must undergo and complete a training program. The NPH Referee is expected to understand, Embody and push the NPH culture with the basketball community. Being a referee means being in a leadership role, which has the power and influence to make or break an event—Referees at NPH are expected use this power responsibly to set a positive tone in our environment.
LEAGUE SITE MANAGER
We are seeking a proactive and organized Site Manager to play a vital role in the successful execution of our events. The Site Manager will be responsible for setting up and overseeing event operations, ensuring smooth execution, and handling in-game situations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the seamless flow of our events while gaining valuable experience in event management and sports operations.
FRONT DESK ATTENDANT
We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Front Desk Attendant to be the welcoming face of our events and handle various responsibilities, including handling payments, merchandise sales, and providing information to attendees. The Front Desk Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for participants and maintaining organized operations.
SCOREKEEPER (STATS + GAME LEADS)
North Pole Hoops is a basketball events company on the mission to revolutionize Canadian and global basketball, focusing on middle and high school players. We are looking for a Scorekeeper (Stats and Game Leads) to be responsible for accurately tracking game play, noting various basketball-related statistics. The ideal candidate has prior experience scorekeeping basketball games and will be able to accurately track stats on the scoresheet. This is an excellent opportunity to join our energetic team, grow your experience and have an entry point into the Canadian Basketball industry.
PHOTOGRAPHER
Reporting to NPH Production Manager, the Photographer is responsible for attending & providing high-level coverage of events by capturing photos of teams, players, game action & overall event atmosphere. To be considered for this role, applicants must own a DSLR camera (or similar) with an appropriate lens for sports & portrait photography and a laptop for photo editing and graphic design.
Deliverables will include Photos and online albums & Player of the Game Headshots. All Media Correspondents will work directly with the Creative Director & Production Manager in execution & rollout of content.

VIDEO CONTENT CREATOR
Reporting to NPH Production Manager, the Video Content Creator is responsible for attending & providing high-level coverage of @nphshowcase events by filming full-games & producing live content. Will serve as a subject matter expert in all elements related to Canadian basketball.
Deliverables include Video highlights, Player of the Game Images, creative recaps, etc). Media Correspondents work directly with the Production Manager in execution & rollout of content.
