Over the course of six months, interns will gain practical knowledge in every facet of league operations, from live game management to site coordination. Internship Objectives
- Develop Proficiency in Live Stats Management:
– Training and hands-on experience with the Swish app for live game statistics.
– Understanding data collection, accuracy, and real-time reporting.
- Acquire Game Management Skills:
– Learn and practice scorekeeping, timekeeping, and game oversight.
– Assist in managing game flow, ensuring adherence to league rules and standards.
- Front Desk Operations:
– Gain experience in front desk responsibilities including guest interaction, registration, and administrative support.
- Site and League Management Shadowing:
– Shadow experienced staff in site management, event setup, and teardown.
– Observe and participate in scheduling, team and staff communication.
- Comprehensive Operational Exposure:
– Participate in the planning and execution of league events and daily operations.
– Learn about internal processes including scheduling, team coordination, and logistical support.

Weekly Breakdown
Weeks 1-2: Orientation and Initial Training
– Introduction to North Pole Hoops operations, policies, and team.
– Basic training on Swish app and live stats procedures.
– Overview of game management responsibilities and front desk operations.
Weeks 3-6: Hands-On Training and Shadowing
– Active involvement in live game management including scorekeeping and timekeeping.
– Shadowing site management to learn about event setup, teardown, and facility coordination.
– Training in front desk operations and interaction with team and staff.
Weeks 7-10: Increased Responsibility and Project Work
– Take on more complex tasks in game management and live stats reporting.
– Lead front desk operations with minimal supervision.
– Manage smaller events or components of larger events independently.
Weeks 11-14: Comprehensive Operational Involvement
– Full involvement in league operations including scheduling, team communication, and logistical support.
– Develop and present a project related to operational improvement or a specific aspect of the internship.
Weeks 15-16: Evaluation and Future Opportunities
– Final assessments of performance and learning outcomes.
– Presentation of projects and review of contributions to the league.
– Discussions on potential hiring within North Pole Hoops or connections to other industry opportunities.
