Reliving The Canadian National Invitational Tournament: MVPs, Top Performers, & Live Broadcasts

Over the last two weekends, we were able to see over 250 games played, 4 Canadian Provinces represented, 8 different age groups, and a whole lot of memorable moments shared with our Canadian Basketball Community.

Each Division had a Champion, an MVP, a Live Broadcast, and multiple standout performers who made a name for themselves. In this article we’re going to go into all of that and more.

U11 Division Champs: Windsor Riverside Falcons – Marcus Little MVP

Without a doubt some the loudest games I’ve ever watched. The passion is real with these younger age groups from the players, parents, coaches and fans. The skill-level on some of these kids make you forget they’re still only 5th graders. Ultimately the Windsor Riverside Falcons came out on top with fantastic team play all around. The future of Canadian Basketball is bright with these younger divisions on the come up while being developed by some great coaches and club programs.

U12 Division Champs: TPG Elite – Aiden Plantilla MVP

Just like the 5th graders, these U12s will be continuing to develop and make for some promising basketball prospects. TPG & Collective Elite shared an entertaining battle in the 6th grade championship game where we saw TPG complete the comeback to win the gold

U13 Division Champs: TPG Elite – Terry Tsenebis-Alexander MVP

Getting into the middle school divisions, you can see the physical development of some of these prospects. Players like Jakob Walker standing at 6’6 & Terry Tsenebis-Alexander with his strength that no team in the division could contain as TPG went back-to-back winning the U13s right after winning the U12s

U14 Division Champs: GTA United – Kenyon St.Louis MVP

Some U14s, just off physical appearance could pass as Seniors in High School. Mackai Morgan Williams standing at 6’7, Jordan Fisher standing at about 6’5. This division sparks a lot of excitement with these players entering high school in the fall which means an elevated level of competition is on the horizon. Soon we will see some of these players making a serious name for themselves in the recruitment world within the next year or two.

U15 Division Champs: Cadougan Elite – Harmony Okojie MVP

Coming off an NPHShowcase Championship, Cadougan Elite went back-to-back as they took home the CNIT trophy to add to their collection. Although it wasn’t easy, this was one of the most competitive divisions in the whole tournament with the likes of the Guelph Knights, & Newfoundland Provincial Team.

U16 Division Champs: Waterloo Wolverines – Carson Anderson MVP

Carson Anderson torched the U16 division scoring nearly 20ppg en route to the Championship with Waterloo Wolverines Elite. An entertaining final that went down to the line against a tough Burloak Elite team.

U17 Division Champs: Simcoe United Spartans – Owen Kenney MVP

We saw the rise of a potential star in the U17 division with Owen Kenney from Simcoe United Spartans flat out dominating. The Spartans ran thru the competition shooting the lights out every game. In the final they took down Eastern Ontario Elite despite an impressive 30 point game from Jakub Dobiech

U19 Division Champs: Supreme Hoops – Jahsemar Olembe MVP

The U19 Championship game was a game for the ages. The stacked WPA Suns went up against Supreme Hoops where the Suns had control of most the game until Jahsemar Olembe erupted for 33 points leading his team to victory.
