Dwane Casey inks new deal with Raps
Masai Ujiri is taking care of his first business of the offseason, inking Dwane Casey to a new 3-year contract, according to Doug Smith of the Toronto Star.
Although the deal has yet to be announced by the Raptors officially, sources close to the Star confirmed the deal will pay $18 million over the three years.
Casey has led the team to increased success every season, collecting just 23 wins in his first year, and finishing off this past season with 56 regular season wins and an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals; both record bests for the Raps.
Overall Casey holds a .533 career record with Toronto, with the most games and wins on the Raps bench, as well as a 12-15 playoff record.
Casey’s defence-first mindset is what will continue to fuel this Raps team for the next three years, what do you think? Is locking Dwane in a smart move for Ujiri and the Raps?
