Peter Lomuro Pushes Saskathewan Over the Top Against Acadia, Freshman Stud Tyler Scott Impresses

ST. CATHARINES–After the Saskatchewan Huskies flexed their muscle over the first two days of the RBC Brock University Classic and rolling over opponents, Acadia came out ready to give the west coast representatives all they can handle. However, in the end, the Huskies pulled out an 83-81 victory to complete their 3-0 undefeated tournament run.
The University of Winnipeg transfer, Peter Lomuro was once again extremely impressive posting a team-high 23 point on 7 of 13 shooting for Saskatchewan.
Following the game, NPH caught up with 6’3 star guard for his thoughts on meshing with his new team.
“I fit in pretty good, it’s a very unselfish team…we gelled pretty nicely and this was a good tournament to lock it all in before the regular season.”
For fellow senior Huskies, winning is something that has become accustomed to, however for Lomuro the pre-season has been a refreshing ride.
“I’m just taking this all in…a lot of winning going on in my life right now, I’m not used to it,” Lomuro laughed.
Nolan Brudehl picked up tournament all-star honours, recording 15 points and five rebounds, while Duncan Jones and Chris Unsworth added 17 and 14 points respectively.
On the other side of the action, it was freshman stud, Tyler Scott who lit it up once again, recording a game-high 25 points, on pace for a stellar season.
Senior guard Anthony Ashe added 17 points for Acadia while Jonathan Tull flirted with a triple-double posting 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
NPH also caught up with tournament all-star Nolan Brudehl for his thoughts on the weekend’s outcome.
“Our first two games we played really well; tonight we didn’t have the greatest start, Acadia came out strong but we managed to get it together and pull it off,” said Brudehl.
Saskatchewan ended their Ontario road trip, a perfect 3-0, while Acadia went winless, 0-3 due to missing three of their primary producers, Owen Klassen, Anthony Sears and Justin Boutilier.
