North Pole Hoops Expands to Quebec, Launches “Respect The Q” Campaign to Spotlight Basketball Excellence
Montreal, QC — After 15 years of national impact and grassroots development, North Pole Hoops (NPH) is proud to announce its official expansion into Quebec, igniting a movement under the banner: “Respect The Q.” More than a campaign, it’s a declaration — Quebec basketball is no longer asking for respect, the community is demanding it.
“I have said this many times, I strongly believe Quebec Basketball community is so special, it has the biggest upside of any region in the world, due to the combination of Raw talent, basketball culture, passion and high level coaching,”
stated NPH CEO Tariq Sbiet.
With homegrown talents Bennedict Mathurin and Luguentz Dort making history in the NBA Finals, the spotlight is on Quebec like never before. And the talent pool runs deep — from rising high school stars to international-level prospects, “The Q” is showing the world that it’s a force to be reckoned with.
Following a record-high amount of teams & players in the NPH ecosystem, between NPH Showcase leagues, NPH D1 Prep leagues, NPA & WNPA, along with & CNIT coming up, this Quebec Expansion is a natural step.

This milestone marks the culmination of over a decade of work by NPH in Quebec — building relationships, hosting tournaments, and identifying talent across the province. Now, the NPH ecosystem of leagues, tournaments, scouting, and media coverage will be rooted directly in Quebec soil, giving the next generation of athletes a direct pathway to national and global exposure.
“Quebec has always been a heartbeat of Canadian basketball,” explained Sbiet.
“For 15 years, we’ve listened, we’ve learned, and we’ve built with the community. Now it’s time to take it to the next level. ‘Respect The Q’ isn’t a slogan — it’s a movement. Quebec basketball has earned its place on the global stage, and we’re here to help amplify that story.”
With this expansion, NPH is committed to working hand-in-hand with Quebec coaches, programs, athletes, and families to empower local talent and provide national infrastructure that fuels long-term success.
“Respect The Q.” will kick off with a series of marquee events, including NPH Showcase tournaments, league activations, and grassroots development programs — all designed to shine a light on Quebec’s basketball culture and competitive fire.
