The Next Generation: Standouts from NPH D1 Jrs
As the 2024-2025 season reaches its midway point across all NPH leagues, the NPH D1 Jr. Prep Division delivered an impressive showcase of underclassmen talent this past weekend. From breakout performances to consistent contributions from rising stars, the competition continues to intensify.
Many breakout performances as well as consistent output among some bright young stars. Brampton City Prep North remains undefeated in dominant fashion, Kings Heights’ dynamic duo took over, and Excel Prep was on fire.
2028 PG Shiloh Brown was a major standout for Excel Prep. He averaged 26ppg in 3 games including games of 31, 28, 19. He’s a top 10 scorer in the league averaging 19.3ppg on the season.
BCP North staying undefeated is mostly in-part to the depth of talent on this team, strong coaching, and effort level from each and every one of their players. Anybody can step up on any given night. Earlier in the season, we highlighted 2028 PG Shalahn Beckford. This time, Jakob Walker & Bryce Dennis were huge for them. When a team has as many options as they do, they’ll be a tough matchup in the playoffs.
Kings Heights’ dynamic duo Praise Badejo and Tito Onyemachi were very solid this past weekend. Praise averaged 26ppg in 4 games and showed why he has a chance to be a special type of prospect in the 2029 class. Tito was a force and showcased elite level versatility combined with his size and athleticism. Plays the game the right way. Sky’s the limit for these two.
