National Preparatory Association Announces Championships, Hosted by Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario
February 27, 2024 – The National Preparatory Association (NPA) powered by North Pole Hoops, is thrilled to announce the hosting of its National Basketball Championships at Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario, from March 21st to March 24th, 2024.
This prestigious event, in its fifth year, will showcase the top high school basketball talent from across Canada, as teams compete for the title of national champions.
The NPA National Championship tournament represents the pinnacle of high school basketball competition in Canada, bringing together the most talented young athletes from coast to coast.
With prep teams vying for the Top spot in Canadian Basketball, the tournament promises thrilling matchups and intense competition.
“We are excited to bring the NPA National Basketball Championships to St. Catharines and Ridley College,” said NPA Commissioner, Jeff Giovanatti.
“This event provides a platform for Canada’s top high school basketball players to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level. We look forward to a fantastic tournament and crowning our national champions.”
Ridley College, located in the heart of St. Catharines, boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a rich tradition of athletic excellence, making it the ideal venue for this prestigious event. The school’s commitment to academic and athletic development aligns perfectly with the NPA’s mission to provide student-athletes with opportunities to excel both on and off the court.
“We are thrilled to host this year’s National Preparatory Association Championship at Ridley College, especially given that this will be the first major championship in our new athletic complex. We officially opened our doors February 20 and have already welcomed Canada’s senior men’s basketball team as they prepare for the FIBA Men’s AmeriCup Qualifiers,” stated Courtney Smith, Ridley College Director of Athletics.
“It’s truly an honour to have Canada’s top high school basketball talent on campus and support the NPA’s vision of providing a development pathway for young athletes in our country. The NPA has been a phenomenal partner to work with and are true professionals in the space. We can’t wait to help grow the game of basketball alongside them!”
In addition to the on-court action, the NPA National Basketball Championships will feature a range of activities and events for players, coaches, families, and fans to enjoy, including interactive fan zones.
“We are building the CHL (Canadian Hockey League) of basketball,” explained Tariq Sbiet, Founder of North Pole Hoops.
“We have an exciting vision that our partners align with, and this championship tournament is a preview of things to come.”
