Red hot Joshua Soifer leads Saskatchewan; 15U Boy’s Nationals Quarter-Finals
Saskatchewan and Alberta pulled off big wins in the Quarter Finals to advance in the 15U Boy’s National Championships.
Joshua Soifer led Saskatchewan past New Brunswick 99-82 with the best performance of the day. The 6’4 forward had a game high 37 points and hauled in eleven rebounds in the win. Soifer shot 15/25 from the field including six three-pointers.
In the other Quarter Final, Alberta fought off a resilient Nova Scotia team to win 94-75. Roman Niro scored 17 points off the bench for Alberta, knocking down five of his eight three point attempts. Niro played 19 minutes and provided instant offense with his catch and shoot style.
Kyree Thompson’s great tournament comes to an end but not before another huge performance. Thompson got into foul trouble, which only allowed him to play 22 minutes but was very efficient in that amount of game action. The guard put up 31 points on 11/21 shooting from the field and grabbing seven rebounds. Thompson is leading the championships with 21.75 points per game.
