Lou Williams – 6th Man of the Year
Toronto Raptors guard Lou Williams is the recipient of the 2014-15 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, the first time a Raptor has won the award.
Drake’s prophecy is fulfilled.
The 6-1 guard battled back from a torn ACL in January 2013, never relented, refined his shot, and found a niche with the Raptors – coming off the bench blazing, unafraid of any tough shot, and to provide instant offence.
OFFICIAL 6TH MAN OF THE YEAR VOTING RESULTS
Williams averaged a career-high 15.5 points and the Raptors surged to a franchise-record 49 wins this season. With his refined touch, he made a career-high 152 three-pointers, nearly double his previous high of 88 set with the 76ers in 2010-11.
With Williams on the roster, the Raptors went from the 13th highest-scoring team a year ago to fourth-highest scoring team this season.
But what we’ll all remember most is the chant: “Looouuuuuuuuu!”
