Abu Kigab and St. Francis on a Mission

After breaking into the National Top 25 High School team rankings, St. Francis (St. Catherine’s, ON) has reassured that they are for real in the Pinky Lewis tournament.

Led by the core group of Abu Kigab, Lucas Oolsthorn, Cele Kasamba, Cullan Voelkner and Aidan Hinds, this team has what it takes to get to the finals.

Abu Kigab

Even with names like Rowan Barrett Jr. and Simi Shittu in the mix, Agu Kigab has been the player of the tournament thus far; especially impressive in last night’s elimination game against Corpus Christi.

Kigab had 31 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals in the win. This 2017 wing had his full skill set on display; a deep pull up jumper, dunks in transition from his steals in the passing lanes and more.

In another pool Pine Ridge has went 4-0 to start the tournament, doing so without last year’s GTA leader in scoring Chase Vassell.

Pine Ridge will face Cathedral in the first semi-final with and will be followed by St. Francis and nationally ranked Cameron Heights.

Cameron Heights has multiple pieces in North Pole Hoops national player rankings and their resume will now be tested against a hungry St. Francis team with championship on their minds.

Look out for the top plays from the #PinkyLewis  which will be coming after the finals this afternoon.

For now here’s a sneak peak of 2018 wing Simi Shittu.
