Brookwood Elite Captures Hall of Fame New England Title, Greishe Clerjuste Named MVP
The Quebec contingent left the Hall of Fame New England Championships the same way they entered…undefeated. Brookwood Elite went 5-0 in New England en route to the tournament gold, while Greishe Clerjuste (2013 6’2 G/ Vanier) took home MVP honours in the process.
In addition, Noah Daoust (2014 6’7 F/ Hotchkiss Prep) was recognized as an honourable mention.
Brookwood Elite opened their first game in a blowout win against the East Coast Panthers, where Cleirjuste lead offensively, registering a team-high 23 points.
However, the second game was not as comfortable, as they defeated the BC Eagles by an eight-point margin. Jordan Aquino (2015 5’11 G/ Brookwood) lead with 15 points and provided a load of energy for his team, while Nolan Woodward (2013 6’3 F/ Champlain) had strong interior play. Clerjuste Chipped in with 14 points.
Following two strong games from the team, collecting victories over Connecticut Basketball Club and Jersey Shore, Brookwood Elite found themselves in the tournament championship where they would use a collective effort to secure the title!
Mamadou Guye lead with 14 points while Fred Dure (2013 6’4 SG/ Ahuntsic) and Max Joseph (2013 6’0 PG/ Ahuntsic) chipped in with 13 and 11 respectively.
Congratulations goes out to the Brookwood Elite program who begin their AAU season in championship fashion!
