EUGENE,ORE–Some may say that Canadian senior Olu Ashaolu is off to a slow start with his new Oregon team after averaging a near double-double of 14.2 PPG and 9.4 RPG last season with Louisiana Tech.
I say, he’s just getting warmed up.
The NPH #3-ranked Canadian in the NCAA is simply adapting to his new environment…after all that is what ducks do.
“Especially the dark-winged duck,” Ashaolu joked, regarding his new nick name dubbed by yours truly.
Throughout four games with Oregon, Ashaolu is averaging eight points and three rebounds, with his best game of the season coming last night (12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists).
I suppose it makes sense to really kick things off with a BANG!
“It was time to break out of the slump,” Ashaolu told NPH.
As he continues to gain comfort with his new team, expect the numbers to inrease and provide Oregon with a major lift, despite already being Oregon’s third leading scorer.
Fellow Canadian Devoe Joseph (Minnesota Transfer) will join the ducks as of December 10.
“Devoe is hungry and ready. He works out relentlessly and can’t wait for Dec 10. We improve so much with him on the court. “
