British Columbia’s Megan Pinske Signs Pro In Germany
COQUITLAM,BC– Slan Sports Management is pleased to announce the signing of Megan Pinske to a one-year contact with the TV Saarlouis Royals in Germany’s Damen Basketball Bundesliga (DBBL).
Pinske, a 5’9″ point guard played one year at the University of British Columbia before finishing her collegiate career at the University of Western Washington.
For the last five years, Pinske has been a part of the Canadian National Team Program at all levels. In 2009, she played her first game with the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team at the FIBA Americas Championship in Brazil.
In the summer of 2011, Pinske represented Canada at the FISU Games in China and more recently at the Pan-American Games in Mexico.
“After playing at the collegiate and international levels for the past four years I am very excited to start my professional career,” said Pinske. “I can’t wait to get to Saarlouis and help the team any way that I can.”
A native of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Pinske has already departed Canada en route to Germany. TV Saarlouis Royals currently hold a 1-6 record and are tied for eleventh in the league. They sit just two games out of a playoff spot.
“We hope Megan will bring stability to our back court play,” said Saarlouis Head Coach, Rene Spandauw. “We are a very talented team, but young and inexperienced. Megan’s experience with the Canadian National Teams should be very helpful.”
Megan’s first game with the Royals will be against BC Wildcats Wolfenbuettel on November 11, 2011.
