SASKATOON,SK–The Saskatchewan Huskies captured their third straight Graham Shootout championship with a win over the Alberta Golden Bears by the count of 78-74.

The Huskies used a team effort in their victory as they saw four players in double figure scoring.

Led by fifth yeard guard Peter Lumoro’s 21 pts the Saskatchewan team looked fresh and aggressive in this contest.

“We wanted to come out and be the aggressor tonight. We didnt do a good job last night and our guys responded well tonight” explained head coach Barry Rawlyk.

The Dogs looked particularly good on post defense showing an all around defensive effort and collectively crashing the boards.

Alberta hung tough through the first half only to have the Huskies open up the lead by as many as 18 points by the third.

“They play high level championship caliber basketball ” said Alberta head coach, Greg Francis.

“We tell are guys all the time ‘when we go play them expect a playoff type atmosphere and a strong post presence”.

Alberta’s Daniel Ferguson led the Golden Bears with 25 points, while Matthew Cardoza grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Huskies got a boost from Chris Unsworth 14 point, eight rebound performance which provided that potent interior presence; another good problem the Huskies have.

“We are fortunate to have a group of post players that at anytime any of us can put numbers. I was glad to contribute when my time came,” expressed Unsworth.
