FRESNO, CA–There comes a time in every elite basketball player’s young career, when they must make the biggest decision of their lives. For NPH #8-Ranked player in the country, Justin Edwards, that time is now!
With Edwards currently on his final school visit to Fresno State, this electrifying point guard is on the cusp of essentially announcing the framework for his basketball future.
Already taking visits to Missouri and Maine, Mizzou seems to have the edge at this point.
“My trip to Missouri was great; so far Missouri is in the lead but Maine is still in the picture and I still have my visit to Fresno State,” explained Edwards, three days ago in NPH post game interview.”
However, at present, Edwards is on the Fresno State campus, still exploring his options.
“I’m looking for a school where I can come in right away and play; a school that could have a good impact on me, and I can have a good impact on them.”
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
-Missouri is head and shoulders above Fresno St and Maine in terms of NCAA rank, this could play a role with Edwards as the Tigers play in the BIG 12 conference with stronger competition and more exposure.
-Fresno State Head Coach, Rodney Terry and former assistant coach under Rick Barnes at Texas could play a major role if Fresno is to secure Edwards. Terry has been instrumental in assisting with the Texas Longhorn Canadian pipeline. [Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph, Myck Kabongo, Kevin Thomas] Can he lock the deal with one of the top Canadians in 2011?
-Based off past discussion with Edwards, his official visit to Maine was a great success, as he felt very comfortable with the Blackbear personnel, including fellow Canadian, Mike Allison–entering junior year.
