Canada Basketball to Host Open Assessment for Cadet Mens National Team

TORONTO,ON–Canada Basketball will conduct a Cadet Men’s National Team (CMNT) open assessment session on Thursday May 19, 2011 at Ryerson University from 6:30 – 9:30 pm ET. This is open to Canadian male athletes aged 16 and under as of December 31, 2011 and have a valid Canadian passport. Players will be assessed by the National Team Coaching staff for potential selection to the 2011 Cadet Men’s National Team Program.

Athletes interested in participating in the CMNT open assessment session can pre-register by completing the online registration form and insurance form, which can be found on basketball.ca (click here for online registration form).

Players must bring these signed forms to the camp in order to register. Registration and sign-in at Ryerson University begins at 5:00 pm and will close at 6:15pm. Registration and Levitt insurance forms will also be available on-site.

Note that your parent/guardian must sign the registration and insurance forms.

All athletes are responsible for their own gear and expenses to attend and participate in the open tryouts. There will be an athletic therapist on-site; however, all athletes are responsible for their own wraps and taping.
The Cadet National Team will represent Canada at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Men from June 21 – June 25 in Leon and Guanajuanto, Mexico.
