Team Canada Roster & Schedule for Adidas Nations
With the AAU Circuit coming to a close for us in Vegas last week, we have a final opportunity to key in on some top ranked Canadian prospects as they travel to Long Beach, California for Adidas Nations. This event has an International feel, with the top 18 and under prospects from around the world; selected to participate in a multi-faceted competitive and learning environment among NBA coaches and collegiate level players who will workout in front of NBA scouts and play the role of counselors.
The Canadian team will be coached by Dwayne Washington (UPlay), Joey McKitterick (Brookwood) and Natifha Weekes (Brookwood).
Nickeil Alexander-Walker has made it on to the roster and is currently the fastest rising 2017 prospect in Canada. He made a strong impact at the NPH Showcase in Toronto and was tremendous on the Under Armour Circuit, picking up offers from Baylor, Illinois, Miami among others from the Power 6 conferences (Pac 12, ACC, SEC, BIG 10, BIG 12, BIG East).
Maquell Fraser and Abu Kigab have also garnered their fair share of attention at the highest levels.
NBA Scouts will place focus on the Burlington Beast, Simi Shittu, who will be transferring from Corpus Christi to Montverde Academy in Florida for his grade 11 year. Shittu is perhaps the most intriguing on the Canadian roster due to his athleticism, length and current skill set.
