Overview:

The North Pole Hoops Internship Program offers a comprehensive, hands-on experience in media, marketing, and broadcasting. Interns will gain practical skills in photography, videography, graphic design, broadcasting, play-by-play commentary, social media marketing, and more. This program is designed to provide real-world experience, and top performers will be considered for future employment or recommended for industry opportunities.

 

Program Components:

Media and Content Creation

   Photography & Videography:

– Hands-on training with various media platforms

– Practice capturing game action, player interviews, and behind-the-scenes content.

– Editing and post-production workshops using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro).

 

   Graphic Design:

– Creating graphics for promotional materials, social media posts, and in-game content.

– Learning design principles and software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe photoshop, etc).

 

   **Broadcasting:

– Shadowing experienced broadcasters and learning about live production.

– Hands-on practice with camera operation, audio mixing, and live-streaming technologies.

 

Play-by-Play & Commentary:

– Training Sessions:

– Workshops on play-by-play techniques, commentary skills, and audience engagement.

– Practice sessions with feedback from experienced commentators.

– **Live Game Experience:**

– Interns will have opportunities to provide live commentary and play-by-play during games, under supervision.

 

Social Media Marketing:

   Strategy and Execution:

– Developing social media campaigns, content calendars, and promotional strategies.

– Hands-on experience with platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.

– Analytics

– Tracking and analyzing social media performance using tools like Google Analytics and native platform insights.

– Adjusting strategies based on performance data.

 

Podcasting:

   – **Production Skills:**

     – Learning the basics of podcast production, including scripting, recording, and editing.

     – Training on podcasting software and equipment.

   – **Content Creation:**

     – Creating and producing podcast episodes on topics related to North Pole Hoops.

     – Engaging with guests, preparing interview questions, and managing episode releases.

 

Evaluation and Feedback:

   – **Mid-Point Review (Week 12):**

     – Formal evaluation of performance and progress.

     – Constructive feedback and areas for improvement.

   – **Final Review (Week 24):**

     – Comprehensive evaluation based on overall performance, skills development, and contribution to projects.

     – Discussion on career goals and potential opportunities.

Final Project:

   – Interns will work on a capstone project that incorporates elements from all areas of the internship. This could include a multi-platform campaign, a live-broadcast event, or a podcast series.

Graduation and Future Opportunities:

   – Presentation of final projects to the North Pole Hoops team.

Eligibility:
