As the Canadian National Invitational Tournament (CNIT) tips off, all eyes will be on the Grade 9 Division—where future stars are set to take the stage. The Field

This year’s Grade 9 division boasts a national—and international—flavour, with teams hailing from Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Chicago, Oakville, Barrie, Windsor, Oshawa, Calgary, and beyond. The competition will be fierce, and the stakes are high.

🔥 RSB Elite (Toronto)

The former NPH Showcase League champions return with a vengeance. RSB Elite is a well-oiled machine, known for high-IQ guard play, crisp execution, and disciplined team defence. Their bench runs deep, and their coaching staff is among the sharpest in the tournament. Every possession matters when you play RSB—they don’t beat themselves.

🇺🇸 Chicago Hoops

The lone American team in the field comes in with major buzz. Chicago Hoops brings the grit and pace of Midwest basketball—explosive athleticism, quick hands, and fearless shot-makers. They’ll be the wild card in this division, and they’re not coming north just to participate—they’re here to make a statement.

🎒 Dropoff Elite (Montreal)

Montreal’s Dropoff Elite is showing up in numbers this year, entering multiple teams into the Grade 9 bracket. Known for their deep development pipeline and aggressive style, Dropoff’s best squads are lengthy, fast, and relentless in transition. With strong showings at past events, they’ll be out to assert Quebec’s growing presence in national grassroots hoops.

🧠 EVO Basketball (Ottawa)

Representing the capital city, EVO Basketball brings a skilled, well-coached group. Ottawa talent is historically very strong, and they will be a tough matchup for any team.
