CNIT Championship Recap: MVPs & Broadcasts
The 8th annual Canadian National Invitational Tournament concluded this weekend. 3 locations in 3 cities, with teams from across North America competing across 6 divisions, including teams coming in from Texas and Barbados.
Easily one of the most talented tournaments hosted at NPH. Potential NBA players & future D1/USPORT level prospects.
Grade 12 Champions: Texas Impact
MVP: King Grace
The #7 ranked AAU team in America by 247sports did not disappoint. But they were also given a run for their money, especially in the championship game vs RedRush Ontario where the narrowly squeezed out a 57-54 win. Led by MVP King Grace (66th ranked prospect by ESPN), Steven Ramirez, David Iwezze, Eze Nwakamma and the rest of the crew.
Grade 11 Champions: Drop-off Elite
MVP: Kamai Samuels
Montreal’s Drop-off Elite came in and took care of business, winning the Championship over . MVP Kamai Samuels proved why he’s among the best Prospects in the Canadian 2026 class. Kaleel Sutton-White, TJ Jeremiah, Jahmal Monbesir were all huge in the Championship game as well.
Grade 10 Champions: Gators Elite
MVP: Favour Nkemka
One of the most impressive individual performances from MVP Favour Nkemka to help lead his Gators team to the CNIT Championship. Favour had 30 points and was automatic on the offensive end getting whatever he wanted.
Grade 9 Champions: Evolution
MVP: Isaiah Bijimine
The Grade 9 CNIT Championship is going to the Nation’s Capital, Ottawa. Evolution pulled out the win in dominant fashion with Isaiah Bijimine winning MVP. Isaiah showcased an impressive level of skill for his age. Always exciting to see and track the younger ages as they continue to develop.
Grade 8 Champions: Heart Soul & Grit
MVP: Jabrieel Forde
Two middle school heavyweights in Heart Soul & Grit and TPG battled it out in the Grade 8 CNIT Championship game. I’m sure a lot of these players are familiar with each other, but during this game it was strictly business. Grit Gang pulled out the W as 4 players scored double digit points.
Grade 7 Champions: Drop off Elite
MVP: Malcolm Minott
This was an extremely entertaining matchup. The skill level at the younger ages is absolutely absurd. Malcolm Minott put on a shooting clinic winning MVP. Drop off Elite ended up winning 2 out of the 6 divisions. Montreal talent showing well as always.
