2023-2024 NPA Team Previews: Fort Erie International Academy
The first NPA session of the 2023-2024 season will be hosted in Fort Erie, Ontario by Fort Erie International Academy. Home of one of the finest Prep Programs in the country still only in their third year.
If you’re familiar with the Canadian Basketball landscape, then you know what Fort Erie’s accomplished as a program in their short history. In their first year as a program they graduated Leonard Miller (Minnesota Timberwolves), Jaden Clayton (Maine University) Isaac Jack (Dayton University) & Emanual Milon (Carleton University),
This season, they’ll have both of their teams competing in the NPA each stacked with post-secondary level talent ranging from USPORT to High Major D1.
For Fort Erie Red, they’ve brought back their top seniors, 5 of which were named All-Canadians last year. As you can expect, they’ll be a National Title Contender.
When asked about his expectations coming into the season, Head Coach Charles Hantoumakos kept it short & simple: “We have a phenomenal group of kids and we look forward to competing against the best teams across the continent.”

The FEIA squad is going to be, in my opinion, just as competitive as Red. 2025 6’3 PG Bashir Ngala is one of the biggest stock-risers in the country right now, gaining multiple offers & interest from D1 schools. 2024 6’6 SG Chidube Ekwommadu’s another prospect with massive upside to keep your eyes on.
Coached by Steve Houston, he had this to say about the upcoming season: “Excited to be back competing in the North Pole hoops system, we’ve got multiple division 1 athletes that play like their life is on the line every single play and we’re excited for them to get to test themselves against programs across Canada. Our expectation is to suffocate whoever is lined up across from us with relentless ball pressure, toughness and basketball IQ.”
With the season right around the corner, there’s a lot to look forward to if you’re a fan of Canadian Basketball.
